Common Questions

Edge or cloud — where should I run my model?
Edge when latency matters (sub-100ms control loops), connectivity is unreliable, or privacy demands data stay on-device. Cloud when models are large, you need fleet-wide retraining signals, or you're aggregating across sites. We design hybrid topologies most often.
Which protocols and connectivity options do you work with?
MQTT (most common), HTTP/REST, BLE, Zigbee, Z-Wave, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, LTE-M, and 5G. Picked by range, power budget, data rate, and existing fleet. We avoid protocol religion.
How do you handle OTA updates safely?
Signed firmware, A/B partitions for rollback, staged rollouts (canary 1%, then 10%, then 100%), and a kill-switch. We treat firmware updates the same way we treat production deploys — observability, gating, and reversibility.
What about TinyML / on-device inference?
Yes. TensorFlow Lite Micro, ONNX Runtime, and pruned/quantized models that run on Cortex-M MCUs and edge Linux boards. Anomaly detection, vision, and audio inference at 10s-100s of mW power budgets.
